A couple of packaging ideas for your jewelry.
So…. you’ve created your jewelry or whatever it is you make and now it’s sold. It really doesn’t end there. A very important part is the packaging. You don’t want your beautiful creation to arrive in a paper towel. There are times that I have ordered things and have been completely disappointed by the packaging. Don’t let this happen to you.
The pic above is of me and is a cool way to display your earrings. It’s certainly not a novel idea but the image obviously is…lol. There are a ton of ways to display earrings. Find the way that works for you.
Check out my PINTEREST board to see many packaging ideas. See it HERE.
This is the way I’m now sending out my rings. The back of the card is in the next pic.
Make sure your contact info is on your cards. Brand your company name. Everything you send out should clearly state who you are.
I put all my jewelry in breathable plastic bags that I buy from my jewelry supply store. I also use kraft jewelry boxes to send out my pieces. Notice that my business name is visible on the package. I finish it with a pretty ribbon. I also included a note in the package to thank my client and another business card.
Don’t overlook your presentation. It says a ton about who you are as a company.
You can find my work at my online shop or if in the Arizona area I welcome studio appointments.
Fill your heart with art and pretty packaging.

My name is Manon. (pronounced Man + O) Yes….my mom cursed me with my name. In her defense I guess she never though I’d leave Quebec. I’m a jewelry artist and painter. I’ve been creative as long as I can remember and things haven’t changed. I now live in Scottsdale, AZ. I spend most days in my studio making pieces that speak to my heart. Thanks for stopping by!!
Spring is a time of renewal…even in the desert. Even though we had a mild Winter you can still feel Spring in the air in Arizona. The cactus are starting to bloom, the days are getting longer and much warmer. I took the above picture as we were getting ready to go out a few days ago. I hope you can see the rainbow in the background. It was a really special moment that I wish I had my Nikon with me instead of my phone.
I made these earrings last year and they never really inspired me. Since Spring is the time of renewal and new beginnings I thought I’d give these babies a renewal bath!!

Silver earrings with yellow agate.
I really like the way they turned out. I think I’m the queen of reinvention. If it doesn’t work go in a different direction!!
This is also an untouched photo of a sunset I just recently took. My phone did just fine for this one. I love sunsets year round here but lately the sky has just been amazing. Everything seems to be coming to life….including the snakes…..yikes. I love this time of year. Spring into Spring, renewal, reinvention and the promise of new things to come.

Two weeks ago today I had the most amazing experience. I had been to the post office the week before and the mail girls asked what I did (since I mail parcels often with them). When I told them that I’m a jewelry artist and I often use turquoise they told me they had a lady that comes in that her father recently passed away and she had a ton on turquoise to sell. I gave them my card and thought nothing more of it. Well….. she went there last week and called me right away. I drove to her home not knowing what to think and when I got there her table was full. Her father had been an artist and bought a ton of stone from a Bisbee miner. He cut and polished all of it. He told his kids it was worth more than gold to him. I started piecing it out and she made me an offer for the whole lot. I took it. This is only a quarter of what I have and it is overwhelming to see the beauty in each and every one. It was my lucky day and I hope I can do justice to all these gorgeous pieces.
This is the first piece I made with the Bisbee turquoise.
This is the back of that Bisbee piece.
I enjoyed making these a couple of weeks ago with the Kingman turquoise. They are all sold but I will be making more in the future.
I’ve also been making many different moon pendant commissions. This one is actually a gift for my mom. The back has my dad’s favorite song and the date they were married. I want her to know that whenever she looks to the moon he is looking down on her and protecting her.
I did just list the last moon I have available on my Etsy shop.
That’s all for now!! I’m heading back to my studio.

Hey there!!

I’ve been working on a bunch of different pieces but mostly ones with messages or inspirational sayings on them. This is a necklace that I’ve stamped the word *inspire* on the bail and *magic* on one side of the drop and *passion* on the backside. It’s a fairly long necklace so all the elements hang nicely.
The pics above are reversible necklaces with *namaste* on one side and *om* on the other. I am doing a bunch of reversibles so whatever mood strikes you can wear them on either side. Love these!!
This is also a reversible necklace which reads….tonight I dream. tomorrow I do. I’ve also added different elements on the chain and a silver drop that says…*believe*.
I mentioned in my Etsy shop that I try and wear each piece out at least once. The first reason is that I can see if there are any issues that I need to resolve before I list it. The second reason is that I like to wear it close to my heart so I can send it out with love. Good mojo goes along way.
I wore this piece above on the weekend and it got many compliments. I listed it yesterday and it’s going to a new home already. It reads….keep it happy>
I rarely make myself anything….lol. Last week I did decide to make myself these quick and easy silver knuckle rings. Love them. They’ll probably stay with me because my fingers are so small!!
I was talking on FB the today how I rarely take out my good camera anymore because my phone is so much easier and the quality of the photos are pretty good. I even photograph all my jewelry with it. No more lugging around that camera. Btw…. this is AZ last night. I think it turned out great!!
See you soon!!

It’s been another fun week in the studio and I seem to have no lack of inspiration. I’ve been back and forth on earrings and necklaces lately and I’ve made a few new pairs of organic hoop earrings which I love the look of. They have a nice swing to them.
The cobalt blue glass beads really sets off the look of these hoops.
This lovely necklace is gone to a new home. It has a lot of meaning to it’s owner as it did to me when I was making it. It reminds her of her dad as it did mine.
This baby has also found a new home. Be free. Be fearless. Good words to remind ourselves daily.
I bought these jade Buddha beads a couple of weeks ago and decided I wanted to incorporate them into earrings.
This is what I came up with as it relates to the Buddha quote… *three things that cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth.*
I’m currently working on more necklace ideas. The sun, moon, stars and hearts often find there way into some of my jewelry as they did my paintings.
I heard it said once that Texas has big sky. I look out each night and watch the sunset here in AZ and think to myself that Arizona also has really big sky…lol. No lack of visual inspiration here!!
See you soon!!

It’s been a busy week in my studio. I’ve been working on various pieces and working out some upcoming ones. This is a bracelet that I just completed. I made it adjustable so it can fit the smallest wrist like mine or a larger wrist. I love the way it looks on and the *dream* tag I made looks great. 🙂
My pieces are 100% handmade by me.
I made these lovelies this week and they are already going to a wonderful home.
On a different note…lol…. I love all these photo apps that you can play around with. I can get so caught up in them I often have to tear myself away.
I took this pic a few months ago and added a quote that I love.
Just wanted to give a quick update!! See you soon!!!

I recently purchased some vintage beads and they’re so cute. It’s been fun to incorporate them into some of my designs. I held my breath when I ordered them because I wasn’t quite sure what was going to arrive but they came to me like new. So far I’ve put them in some of the earrings.
These are my latest sterling earrings. I think that these are my favorite but I’ve said that about every pair….lol. I’ve added the words….Find. Your. Happy. Place. I think this rings true to many people. We look around for things and people to make us happy when in reality happiness is a feeling that is within us. I like these words in the piece to bring a gentle reminder.
This photo was sent to me recently. My friend, Mae, is one of my biggest supporters. I love that she loves jewelry and mine at that. If she lived closer I would put a hammer in her hand and have her forge away with me. 🙂
You can find my jewelry at my Etsy or you can email me at manon@sistersofthesun.com

I’ve been working hard in my studio making a variety of new things. I’ve also been taking some excerpts of my paintings and adding them into some of my pendants. This necklace has a painting of mine and is reversible as you will see in the next photo. Two for the price of one….:). I’ve also oxidized the chain and clasp to give it an edgy look.
It looks great on. I’ve made a few of these pieces using other paintings. It’s fun to see my artwork combined with my jewelry.
I really enjoy making rings. I’m purposely not making them in my small size so I don’t end up keeping them all…lol. These are the two latest.
Bangles are now in the mix. There was a ton of hammering to these two….so much so that I thought my tennis elbow was coming back.
I have yet to decide on leather cord or silver chain for this sterling pendant. It has a nice size to it plus it’s a heavy gauge silver. I think it might look great sitting on the chest.
You can find these items at my Etsy shop. Come by and take a look.
I’ll post new pieces, paintings and tutorials soon. Hope to see you then!!

I love to see the collections that people have. I’m not much of a collector….except for my art supplies and shoes…lol….but I do have a variety of hands. The two larger hands in this photo were found at an antique store years ago. They use these to make plastic gloves and once they get a crack in them they are discarded. At the time I purchased them the price was right.
I adore these two hands. The larger one was a lovely gift to me from my love and I’m not even sure where I found the smaller one.
These are the functional hands in my studio. They hold business cards and notes.
This is a lovely teapot hand that sits in the office. I will never use it as a functioning item. It was made by an artist named Jack Earl.
I made some pendants and rings with resin last week. The circle piece from this pic is already headed to a new home. I put it on a very long silver chain and it looks awesome.
You can find more of my work at Etsy.

Today I receive a copy of Prodigy of Errors by Manisha Gupta. Manisha is a writer that asked me over a year ago if she could use an old painting of mine for the cover of her book. I was happy to oblige and this is what the book looks like. It’s so cool to have one of your own paintings on a book cover. I’ve been smiling all day!!
