*Moon dust in your lungs, stars in your eyes, you are the child of the cosmos, a ruler of the skies.* ~author unknown
Inspiration is out your front door. A cactus, a moon and a sunset. Bam….. big time inspiration. I can’t get enough of these nights. It blows me away to think we are just a speck in this night sky, in this universe……so…. I think instead of the beauty and that we’re so fortunate to be surrounded by it.
Inspired by the sunset sky. Sterling earrings with pretty peridot gemstones. Love these!!
My studio has been bustling with work for Sedona and a soon to be announced Christmas open house. If you’re thinking about custom work please contact me soon as the holiday season is fast approaching so we don’t run out of time!!!

My collection of stones beckons to me each day and I love making new rings with them. The stones are so pretty that I like to let them take center stage. It’s funny because when you look at the stone itself it’s gorgeous but putting it in a setting really shows it off.
The new ring above is a White Buffalo turquoise or White Buffalo. They’re not easy to come by. I have three more of these stones but those have a lot of black in them. This one is mostly white…..swoon!!!
Some of my stones look like you’re hanging at the beach for the day….ha. This new ring is just that.

I think these little rings are so adorable. You can wear them alone or stack them together. I used peridot for two and coral for the other. There’s a little message on the back of each one. 🙂
Stones like these inspire me each day. The large one is a Damele out of a small mine near Austin, Nevada. The small one is a Carico Lake in matrix and the bright blue one is Easter blue from Nevada. I can’t wait to work on these babies!!! 🙂
Everyday I’m excited to get in my studio to make new pieces!! Thanks for stopping in to take a look!!!!

Most of the time I wing my designs but sometimes I work in my jewelry sketchbook to come up with new ideas or to see if something will look good on paper before I start creating it. The upside is that I can always refer back to it in the future if I’m creating a similar piece and it’s actually fun to pull out my watercolors and play around.
The above sketches show what I had in mind for the earrings and the Royston turquoise necklace.

As you can see my jewelry sketchbook drawing came close to the actual finished piece. Ok….. kind of close….ha, ha!!! It’s such a great stone. I’m glad I thought this one out a little before diving in.

Sketching ideas can help your design process greatly. I know I should do more of it so I’m trying to up my jewelry sketchbook game a little. I must say that it’s fun to see it go from paper to fruition. 🙂

This past week I worked with druzy gemstones. Druzy (druse, drusie) is the glittering effect of tiny crystals ontop a colorful mineral that have awesome sparkle. The druzy gemstones grow slowly over millions of years and are found as the very last layer of growth on agate or another colorful base. Drury is not always quartz, but is any kind of mineral found in a plate-like form, such as malachite, dolomite, garnets and calcite. Some common colors are orange, white, red and brown. They might look somewhat delicate but druzy gemstones are a hardy gem.
The druzy gemstone………
Supplies strength and energy
Encourages clarity of mind
Druzy is used for balancing all chakras
The above ring was a customer order. The picture of this druzy does not to it justice. I was almost sad to part with this ring.
*Shoot for the stars* is also a quartz druzy gemstone in it’s natural state. A friend told me that she thought it looked like shaved ice….lol. It certainly does. This beauty is off to a new home.
I wasn’t sure when I ordered this stone how I would feel about it. Turns out that it looks fantastic in it’s setting. It’s bright and it’s bold and it makes you smile. The words on the band of this are *I choose happy.* Perfect words for this ring.
There are so many incredible stones to work with. I love giving them new life and meaning to their owner. Don’t overlook druzy gemstones. Put some sparkle back into your life!!!

You work hard to make your creations. You spend time and effort to make your pieces beautiful. Well…… you’ve got to display them so they look amazing. I have many clients come to my studio for their custom orders or to see my latest work. I was showing my work on black displays and I was never happy with that. I decided I needed a change. I tested out many things and finally found what worked for me and the kind of pieces that I make.
You can go to tile stores, wood stores, antique or modern stores to find fun unusual displays. Whatever you choose I would advise you to make your jewelry display feel cohesive and not a jumbled mess. Your clients want to see the jewelry and not what’s behind it. Tell your story and show your work. Let your jewelry display compliment your work but not take it over. Have fun and try and be unique.
I love this cuff bracelet I recently finished. It’s in a sterling silver setting with a Royston turquoise and the word *blessed* on the side.
*love. courage. hope.* bangle bracelet with Morenci turquoise.
Crystal quartz necklace with sterling silver.
When your gorgeous pieces are finished make sure you have a jewelry display to put them on that lets your beauties shine!!!! 🙂

You gotta love the look of the week!!!! My look this past week included this Royston ribbon turquoise ring. This is the only ring that I’ve made that I’ve kept for myself and I love wearing it out. It has the most amazing colors.
These silver earrings can also be included in the look of the week. I added turquoise to them. They’re light and swing nicely on the ears.
Swoon!!!! I wasn’t sure when I purchased Golden Carnelian in Chalcedony cabochon that I was thrilled about it. I’ve had it for a few months so last week I put it in a ring. It turned out fantastic. It’s not as bright as most rings I make but it makes an awesome statement. This ring would definitely make my list for look of the week.
Whatever your look is…..wear it with confidence. Be proud of who you are and rock your look of the week!!

This past week I worked with a little gold to make silver with gold rings. When I work with silver and I drop a little ball I don’t stress too much about it. I know I’ll find it eventually. When I was working with the gold and dropped a tiny piece I immediately got on my hands and knees and hunted that baby down….LOL!!!
I love these silver with gold rings. The gold brings some warmth to the cool silver. They look awesome when combined.
I hand forged the band and they look pretty cool.
You can find both of the rings at my shop here ——–> sisters of the sun
I have lots of new ideas coming up including more silver with gold rings. Please check back!!
See you soon!!

My last few weeks have been filled with custom orders. I’ve been a busy girl. 🙂 I love custom orders because I get to work with the client on what they’d like and then I get to throw a bit of me into the mix. It usually starts by someone seeing something they liked but looking for their size, words and gemstone. We exchange several emails or studio visits to come up with a plan. It’s a blast to see it from beginning to end.
The above piece is a custom order. It’s a beautiful Larimar ring. The client wanted certain coordinates on the ring. It turned out great. That Larimar stone is stunning.
This custom bangle bracelet features a Variscite cabochon. It reminds me of some of the Royston turquoise I’ve been using. The client wanted special words on this bangle.
I love the colors of carnelians. This pillow shaped carnelian was perfect for this custom order. I just adore the way the stone looks against the oxidized silver.
Awe…… this ring wasn’t a custom piece but I had to show it because the turquoise is so pretty. I named her *a day at the beach.* Yes…..it’s the perfect name…lol. She can be found in my shop here.
If you see something that you like don’t be afraid to contact me. I have a vast array of gemstones and would be happy to work with you on your custom jewelry. I like to tell everyone that each client is special to me and that I take time for each piece. I like to send them off with good mojo!!
Thanks for stopping in!!

Before it becomes a ring it looks like this. The first step I take to building a ring is to find my stone. (I don’t have any problem in that department…lol.) For this ring I used a Royston ribbon turquoise. I always work in sterling silver so I measure how much silver bezel wire I’ll be using. I also decide at some point what kind of band for the ring shank, what words I want on the ring and the bottom shape of the bezel where the stone will sit. Then it’s all about starting to put it together.
Ater I’ve gone through most of my steps my ring setting will get to this point. It needs to be cleaned up and many areas filed once more. Btw….it takes time an patience and mistakes happen all the time.
When I finish the cleanup and oxidization I’ll be ready to set the stone. I always hold my breath a little because this is not the time you want a catastrophe…lol.
This is the finished ring. There’s a sense of accomplishment when you build a ring or any other piece of jewelry. it’s a thrill to see the stone in a pretty setting.

I live about 10 minutes from Cave Creek, Arizona. The main street is like an old western town. Smack in the middle is a store called The Town Dump. Yesterday I decided to take a ride and get my fix.
There are no words to describe this eclectic, crazy kind of store. There’s a bit of this, that, junk and funk.
The outside is has rusted pieces, signs, furniture and a plastic leg that is about 7 feet tall.
I love these paper flowers from The Town Dump. If you’re having a fiesta night they’re so pretty to put around the house.
I can see thousands of metal flowers in the store. Some are huge or as small as the ones pictured above.
The Town Dump in Cave Creek, Arizona, is a must see if you’re in these parts. It’s sure to make you smile. You can find them HERE.
This past week has been driven by many custom orders. I’ve had 6 rings on my plate. I thought I’d show this genuine Kingman turquoise ring. It’s big, bold and beautiful. It’s going to a gal that loves big rings.
Not going to lie…..lol……. I have a ton of stones. My turquoise collection is forever growing. I only occasionally show a couple on here because quite frankly…..I’m keeping them protected…lol. The above pic consists of two Nevada Boulder turquoise and the Royston turquoise. Rob keeps surprising me with some beautiful stones. He’s into them as much as I am. I think these will make beautiful pieces.
