holidays in the desert

*I don’t see the desert as barren at all; I see it as full and ripe. It doesn’t need to be flattered with rain. It certainly needs rain, but it does with it what is has, and creates amazing beauty.* ~ J. Harjo

It’s the holidays in the desert. Yay!! Yes…. we lack in snow and big trees but hey…..have you ever seen a light covered cactus? So pretty….luckily I don’t have to decorate them…ha.

Our Christmas tree

Oh Christmas tree

My man never disappoints!! He came home last week with the prettiest tree for me. It’s perfect. See…..we get real trees out here. 🙂

Joye and I at open house

Joye DeGoede and I had our first annual artist’s open house last weekend. We actually should of called it *holidays in the desert*…next time!! Joye showcased her amazing paintings and I showed my latest jewelry collection. A great time was had by all and we’re looking forward to a Spring Fling in the new year.

I made a few of these citrine and amethyst necklaces. They’re are raw chunks….which I love. Perfect for holiday gifts or anytime.

I”m working on quite a few custom orders and then a few days off!!

See you in the new year!!

My work can be found here at Echo of the Dreamer gallery and at Enter the Earth gallery.

me

My name is Manon. (pronounced Man + O) Yes….my mom cursed me with my name. In her defense I guess she never though I’d leave Quebec. I’m a jewelry artist and painter. I’ve been creative as long as I can remember and things haven’t changed. I now live in Scottsdale, AZ with my man, Rob. I spend most days in my studio making pieces that speak to my heart. Thanks for stopping by!!
